Norway Fjord Explorer

15th - 20th October 2016 - With a group of enthusiastic Adventurer’s from all over Denmark we travelled by bus to the Norwegian Fjords! Did we pack enough warm sweaters? What would Oslo be like? Do they really have Golden Cheese? and … Will we meet Norwegian Trolls? We were about to find out soon!

We started the tour to Norway with a visit in Oslo, the capital city. We spend our day visiting the various museums in the city, enjoying the view from the impressive opera house building and enjoyed a warm cup of chocolate milk in one of the cosy cafés. In the evening, our tour guide introduced us to one of Oslo’s most diverse and enriching cultural music venues where we enjoyed a colourful concert.

As the trip continued, the bus passed through amazing landscapes and the biggest tunnel in Norway. We crossed the Sognefjord by ferry, between Gudvangen and Flam and passed by the Nærøyfjord, a beautiful area, protected by UNESCO. We continued our trip to Leardal, where we would spend the upcoming two nights.

Supported by our tourguides, Sigrid & Poul, we started our 7 hour hike with a view on the Glacier. What an experience! We learned that hiking is not only about reaching the top! Yet, the amazing view up there makes it worth to reach higher. Finishing the day with a cozy BBQ with a view on the fjord makes the day complete.

The last day, all a bit sore from the previous hike, we enjoyed ourselves with various activities; the ones who were eager to hike more could choose different hiking paths, others decided to explore the village or experiencing canoeing at the fjord.

Are you asking if we met the trolls? We knew you would be curious! Visit the Fjords and you might be able to say Hi to them yourself!
